mr fairus, my 2 cents again; as far as exposure is concern, yr d50 captured it well. No overblown is seen for a noon pic (wonder how the machine is so intelligent!) small vibration can be seen even though negligible for a small size pic. (next time you should display yr camera setting for a more precise and professional comment)
now come the hard one..from aesthetic point of view... the composition was taken with little consideration! the main problem with yr pic is the staircase; 1. i would angled it more to the left so that the staircase would be somwhere near the middle and you'll see a connecting line through out the whole pic. i.e. leading the viewer eyes right from where the staircase started..through the boat and to the lovely beach scenery.
2. now, since the staircase was taken not in full...so u'll not be able to fulfill the no.1 point above. the pic becomes so sudden..without helping the viewer to experience a steps of viewing experience.. too abrupt!
3. the red bangsal is a no-no combination!! incomplete and can be disturbing.. pls keep in mind of small2 thing ..u think u got a great view in front of you...because what u see is actually what yr mind want to see.. so probably in y mind u see a nice boat with nice backgournd ..with no disturbing items in between.. but u must remember..camera has no perception...they r machine..they capture everything!! eventhough u think differently.. they are mechanical in nature.. remember that..
4. to imporove, try cropping the staircase and the red bangsal out. you'll see what i mean..
thats it for now bro.. jgn kecik hati..and keep learning..
When are you going to learn? It is not the technology that produces beautiful pictures. You don't need capital expenditure on those things. Composition is the one that is very fundamental.
A car is different from a camera Mr. Fairus. When are you going to learn to understand the differences in concept. A camera can't race and a car can't shoot a pretty picture. Just ask Wautz. Is it the photographer or the camera that shoots good pictures?
Mr Wautz, I will differ from your comments on this photograph. It has all the elements of the Malay psyche - a coconut tree, a boat, land in the distance, the sea, an eagle or two, and a hint of a house. If you give a blank paper to a Malay child, this picture will definitely emerge. So, I think that Mr. Fairus here is conceptualising the Malay psyche through his photograph. So, there is definitely a story here.
i dont understand, what is in mr Santini's mind. if he said this, this and this.. and most important does not need technology to produce quality picture. why in the first place he invested in so expensive camera.
might as well buy some cokia camera.. and try to snap one..tettt
Really, Mr Attitude, you need to get out to the world with Mr. Was or Wautz with that camera of yours. Sometimes, there are things you can see with the assistance of Mr. Was or Warts or Wautz, whatever. Like I have said again, composition is almost everything. Don't let your attitude and technology get in the way of good photography!
